a $300 20+mph bike is easy to make
$150 bike/scooter add in $150 for hop up parts and the bike/scooter should bedoing at least 25mph with the right gearing. should cost under$300 no problem.....
also to get a bike to get over 30mph can be very cheep and rewarding.
After you get past 35mph the speed is harder to get at, you now have a huge amount of things stoppong you from any more speed.
battery current,
motor power,
controller power,
the wire between all those things as well.
oll of these things need to be looked at, It can be simple if you keep your goals down, me i wanted to hit 60mph for over a couple years now on my bike.
I have gotten her past 45mph on only a couple times.
If you want it to be easy, just get an PM132 motor and a 300amp controller. those will cost you a lot of money but in the end the bike will be one fast speed demond
check out "electric scooter parts" stores on a yahoo search. do some list making and come back with some parts you would like to look into.
If you plan it right you can get all the things you need for a hop up for under $150. the bike will gain a bit of speed if you just step up the 36v controller to a higher voltage 48volt controller.(of course you need 48volts of battery power and a 48v charger as well) you dont need to even change the stock motor sometimes just by upping the voltage 12volts can add 700-1000rpm if not more of new speed. with the gears you can put on the motor, that amount of extra rpm's will give a 6-9mph boost to stock speed.
after you get boored of that then get a stronger and faster motor. this will somtimes take away from speed, but if you plan every thing out you can add some big numbers to your bike. motor performance boost -4 to 20mph.
