guess is as good as mine,i just added 1 extra case to reed gasket with gasket glue between each and mine runs way better,it work for me so i guess i know what i am talking about but to each is own try what they said, mine looks just as good as it did before i added the extra and i didn`t tell you to add a bunch just one or two, besides whos going to see it while your riding around? and you don`t tighten the screws till your wrist hurts anyway, just snug them good, how will it leak air if you put gasket glue between each piece?including the manafold gasket and carb?that someone you asked doesn`t know as much as he says....sorry and yes you put them on before you put the reed block back in gasket glue on both sides of the gaskets, thin layers, gasket glue-gasket,gasket glue-gasket,gasket glue- reed block, gasket glue- manifold gasket, gasket glue-manifold,gasket glue carb gasket, gasket glue -carb just do like that but put the glue on your finger tip and rub it on the gasket, thin layer just to cover the gasket and the next piece DON`T just squirt it all over everything!hope it helps friend OH and it doesn`t help reed lift,it adds more crankcase volume more room for air/fuel mix to be stored till the piston comes down, like i said who ever told you the above is retarded!!! sorry thats just my opinion
