wanna get real technical , with your experiments . Grab a micrometer and a 4 " piece of sodder.
Pull oout your spark plug , then after bending the sodder in a small L shape . This is to slide the spark plug hole , and angle so that the sodder is against the cylinder wall. Turn over engine , or give one spin of the engine with pull start . then pull it out and measure the thinckness of the sodder . It should be in the .5 mm from top , but usually you will find it is in the 1.0 - 2.0 mm areas . but adjusting the head of the cylinder or pulling out gaskets and using thinner ones or gasket maker you will bring out a bit more power !
