| Administrator Friends call me God ;) | Thread moved to proper forum. What voltage is the current battery? I would assume it's either 6 or 12 volt. The SAFE way to do it is to replace the battery with the same voltage or you will burn things out such as the motor. You could also risk overheating the wiring which would melt the insulators and could cause a fire. If anything, replace with same voltage battery with a higher amperage rating for longer ride times between charging. You WILL want to check the wiring and ensure that the exisitng wiring is capable of handling the current flow. You may need to upgrade the wiring to a bigger guage (ie from 20ga to 16ga or from 16ga to 10ga etc). Most automotive battery trickle chargers have both 6 and 12 volt capabilities. You could purchase one of those usually for less than $40. |

or if you need to save money got to Tncscooters.com both places gave every thing ya need i recomend, 3x 12volt7amphour cells= 36volts look for a nice 50-100amp(36volt)controler(tncscooters.com) then you need a 1.8-2.5 amp 36volt charger (top speed 24-28mph!) If your bike is the 18volt minni moto brand, the motor may fry at 36volts so just get every thing listed above but for 24volts to be on the save side.... at 24volts the bike will and should top out at about 18-24mph sorry there is no hope for speed, couse the 200watt stock motor is too slow

I guessed And as to the battery it is currently 18v and I get a top of 15Mph, but speed doesnt matter to me too much I ride it for fun, more speed = better if possible though! As to the controller and other parts... is there any local style shops I can get a controller and battery such as TheSource (Circuit City) or Canadian Tire... Im canadian and live in/near Toronto |

| Hi I'm new here Be nice to me | I also have a Honda minimoto, recently after changing out the battery, I found that as soon as I pluged inthe battery it ran, even without the key in. So I took out the controller and ordered a new one from monsterscooter, when I plugged it in, I get nothing. Any ideas???? The info at monstor scooter says that there may be some rewiring for som models, however there are no schematics anywhere to be found. Not sure what I have to do to get this thing running. Any help would be appreciated by my 3 yr old!! Thanks |
