Default 1200w Motor

Just curious, I already know that my minimoto would never b able to fit a 1200w motor and the battery space. But what if it could?? How much power could I get out of that thing?

Do a search for the "Currie tech 1000watt"($130.us) rare earth mag motor! it will fit and is way better made......plus it is rated for 36volts and can be bumped to 48volts easy! this is the motor for you because it is the same size as your stock motor, you could have it installed with the least work to do....

the Unite "MY1020" style motors(350-1200watts) are poorly made and the 1000watt unite motor I used is now near dead at 370miles. the currie tech motors come with a nice box and a some backing for breaks down the road, just call them up and they will help you out. now Unite on the other hand is a china company made in china and sold in china...so dont expect customer care from them....

you should look into a TSP300 controller...if you would like to save space though go with the TSP100, but the tsp100 is only rated for 36volts@100(+/-) amps so you wont be able to go up to 48volts..... If you ask me though, 36volts with the Currie tech 1000watt will make one hell of a entry level race package! with that motor and the tsp100 you should be able to break 30mph no problem even if you over 180 pounds!

as for batteries go with 12volt 7amp hour cells for now, to get an under standing of what you will need for propper sized batteries later, you may need to go with 12v10ah cells because I do belive you will have to rework the frame to squ'eeze the more popular 12v12ah cells into that tiny bike

PS sorry for the spells, I just got out of work and it is 7am here

Never say never!

I have an MY1020 1200W 48v in my Polini 911 GP1 !
I'm using A123 cells, 36 of em in an 18s2p configuration, 65v peak.

Sweeeeet!!!!

Show some pics! Me I want to use the new Cap cells that should be out in a small enuff size.. I may just dish out the cash and use BatCaps...

is your bike fast enuff for the track? What gears you running? me I use 13/80#25 chain with the MY1020 motor I can get up to 25-3.1mph peak!
Well here is the video.....

YouTube - fast lean into the turn

100ft 6 seconds
200ft 9 seconds
300ft 12seconds

I do belive I could have gone faster if my batteries and motor weren't so close to getting over hauled..In other words this bike has over 300 miles on the parts so it is a tad pudgy on take of power nowa days
