Referral Program

First off I'd like to thank all the users here for participating. The forum is starting off great and I think everyone is having a good time.

However, what every site needs is to grow. Right now I'm looking at a few options such as link trading and advertising. I am also looking into an idea which can only be considered a referral program.

There is a referral addon for this forum software, but it will not work with the skin that is used. This means I either need to modify the addon, or go to the other skin which definately isn't nice looking.

My other choice might be to change the software this forum uses. This would not mean much to the users as your profiles would stay and all the posts would still be here. This does mean a bunch of work for me, but such is the life of an admin.

The question I am posting to you, the users, is what kind of referral program would you like to see? Would you want a cash payout? Parts for your pocketbike? Forum rewards such as special avatars or ranks? It can also be multiple rewards and we could have a store type of system where you can choose your reward when it is time.

Basically the program would work this way. Refer a user and once he/she makes a certain number of valid posts you would receive your reward. Since one user being referred may not be enough to get the reward it will go in a bank of sorts until you have reached enough to be paid out.

What you could do is have a link from say www.custompocketbike.ca to here as to get more people to participate but otherwords i do not know what to do as to improve the forum site.

I had neglected to put a link on there. That has now been fixed. I am also advertising a little with Google and added a link to the forum on some of my other sites. We'll see how that works out.

However I'd still like to hear people's opinion of the referral program and what they would like to see.

i like the sound of the referral equaling rewards, most people would like that too, i'm certain. but i have told everyone i know who is remotely interested in pocket bikes to join, but they haven't grrrr. the google search is an awesome idea, pretty much everyone uses google.

well im telling as many people as i can and that have access to a comp but i like the rewards idea for so mant referals sound like fun everybody can always use pocketbike parts but i out there trying to get my freinds and other and their freinds in here

How does it work in the case of " links " , As you all probably know i work in a hydro shop , and yes get some of the so called pesky growers here that just seem to have alot of money to spend , and not to mention the internet sales of our products have put us in touch with many different people , for that reason i am bringing pocket bike sales to my shop as well , anyways , just started website and gonna have links all over it and rivercitypocketbike.ca and pocketbikeforum.com are gonna be two of them . And by refferal how will you know who referred that person !

I haven't started the referral program yet. How it would work is when the user signs up they will have an option to choose who referred them. Or they may have a specific URL you can give them to join which will show who referred the user.

It will be at least a week before I can get anything set up.
