Grinn and Barrett

Hello fellow Pocket Bike enthusiasts, I am requesting any information pertaining to PB’s and there growth in Canada positive or negative. I am looking for news paper articles, magazines, pictures. I live in Calgary Alberta and currently we ride I guess on a professional level at many track events across Canada, unfortunately at this time we have no organized parking lot events or groups.

The reason I request this info is I am working on a proposal for the City of Calgary showing them both good and bad in an effort to find some place that we may be able to hold fun rides and cag class events, in a safe and fun environment, sort of a stepping stone event to the full on track racing, or professional pocket bike racing. I believe in order to promote this sport and to insure its growth continues this is very important. Any info you may be able to provide me will be very useful.

I can send you a DVD of the Shaw video, I also have a picture from the city's largest newspaper that they took of us racing.

And even though I haven't announced it yet I just received a copy of the Financial Post Business magazine issue where they wrote a very small article about pocketbikes (very small) but did use two images I provided for them in the magazine.

I believe that's all the media info that I have from us in the city here. Of course you may want to mention sites such as this one and how we promote getting people off the street and the proper use of safety equipment.

You can feel free to use any articles that I have written provided the text is not changed and the credits stay.

If you need any images I can provide them of us in our parking lot. Images can be provided in origional unedited format (approx 11x17) and can be converted to 300DPI (5x7) for print publishing if you wish to offer council a printed booklet of some type. These images would be free to use for this project only.

Of course I can also provide negative articles as well, which while they are negative, if spun the right way will ultimately lead to enforcing your point of offering people a safe place to ride. However this is a loaded gun and you may not want to go this way.

Are lot rides go from great with alot of new riders , to sometimes low numbers !

Our league is up and down too.
We just came off a fantastic summer, but the numbers are WAY down for winter.
Let me know if you come across any good quality videos, pic. quality is more important than actual content. As I think you saw in the other thread, our sonsor would like to run the videos on a TV in his store. The quality of the stuff available from UTube is not good enough. I will be buying the PBP DVD, but we can always use more.

I have the videos I shot at Speedworld a couple of weeks ago in full resolution. The original files are twice the size as what YouTube will allow me to post, but they are still just shot with a digital camera. If you want the footage, we can figure out a way for me to get it to you. The mini-motard stuff is pretty good.
