Question New here! Wanting to learn....

Hello evryone,
I'm Chris and I'm addicted to pocketbikes... I'm 33 yrs. old and have 3 boys, the oldest being 8 yrs. old. I've had my fare share of dirtbikes, quads and so forth, as well as the kids have ie: ( PW50, KTM 50, LT80 quad) etc. but when the gas prices went up a couple of years ago, the Yukon just wasn't cutting it for fuel. I sold my toys and decided I wanted a sportbike. My wife bought the one of my dreams for me last christmas, a 2005 1000RR Repsol edition. LOVE IT! Well now my kids want to be like dad and are now getting into sportbikes when we started looking for pocketbikes. I ended up buying a 2005 Blata 2.5 the other day and it looks like this may be my new home... I've got alot to learn from everyone so I wanted to say hi first off and have a few questions:

Stuff to watch for or beware of on these bikes?
Best places to buy parts, oem, sprockets, tires, etc?
Any good publications, magazines, websites etc.?
(although this one seems to be the best so far hands down)
Aftermarket parts sources etc?

My main concern is this is difference from our other toys in the past and these racers. I'd like to start my 8 yr. old on the bike but possibly switch sprockets to keep it slower than stock till he gets used to it. Who is a good company to talk to about this mod?

Well, thanks for your time and I hope to learn alot here. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me know or if you can reply to my post, awesome! Nice to be here. Thanks for reading my babble... now I just got to convince the wife I really need a B1 Oragami also...

I live in Iowa, center of the midwest. I will have to give pannonsports a try and see what they have to offer. Thanks for the quick reply, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions....

Nice pic by the way. I would love to buy it but as you can see I have other fast toys to pay for first...

Blata is a reputable bike for sure . Actually most knocks off bikes or rep are of blatas .
1000 repsol hey .... wow . I am getting my gixxer back in the spring , it is a 1000 too! Fun as hell. But buddy , might might as well buy one for yourself too! Cause i have had more fun on my pocketbikes than i ever had on the street bike . ONLY, next year the gixxer is going to be all track ready !
Good luck to your sons ...... Hope to be able to help you guys out !
