Default I've got my bike, now what?

Okay, here's a sitrep. I finally picked up my bike today, a C1 w/c (thanks Device). Now here's what I gather are the next few steps:

1. run regular unleaded with a mix of 25:1 (2 stroke oil semi synthetic). I should keep this mix for the first few tanks. After that run 32:1, then 40:1, and then finally up to a 50:1 full synthetic blend. Is this correct?

2. Run a mix of rad coolant, tap water, and water wetter (I know this is correct).

3. Let the bike warm up for about 10 minutes before I take it out to bring everything up to operating temperatures.

4. Run the tank dry to lessen the chance of buildup in the engine.

Am I on the right track, or am I totally wrong.

Rest assured that i'm not going to take her out for her maiden ride until I have all the i's dotted and all the t's crossed.

looks pimpin ! Here is a tip , if you are still using that cheep chinese spark plug toss it , and get an NGK.....

And as for break in - use the 25 :1 for 5 tanks , then to the 50:1
Also check the clutches , make sure they are all the same setting ( use caliper ) 21.00mm or 20.75mm try both and see !

Other than that partner , you bought it from a good guy , have fun !

I drained all the fluids (put in for storage purposes) and put new mixes in. I used a 50/50 antifreeze/water mix, with the water wetter,
and
I used a 20:1 fuel mix with a high quality 2 stroke oil (not synthetic), but I am getting a lot of smoke,
suggestions?

noticing that the newer bikes are needing a leaner mix is this due to the increased compression that has been corrected in the engines?

I always suggest breakins do not use synthetic oil. We always wait two tanks and then do the switch to synthetic and higher fuel/oil mixtures.

We start at 25:1 and go up from there. Please remember that synthetic oil will reduce the amount of smoke you see (even at the same mixture amount). Also remember that the manufacturer does not recommend anything other than what's in the manual. It could void your warranty (but we've never had any problems).

GilDude not realy. 50:1 is sufficent oil gas mix in most 2 stroke engines. the cylinder, rings, and crank brgs. need some lubrication- hence the oil. Gil, notice that when you disassemble the motor, there is a small amount of oil in the crank area. That oil is unburnt oil from your gas oil mix. and its role is to lubricate and thats it. Too much oil in the gas oil mix .....Bad. Not enough......Bad. 50:1 just right.

Yes admin , but me and huck have noticed ( on the liquid cooled bikes ), with higher compression are having a harder time runnig without a leaner mix, but do agree with the thick oil for break in period!

AdminDude please don't hate me but....You really have to understand, you should use a 30w non detergent motor oil @ 30:1 in the first couple tanks. Its possible that you will foul a few plugs, but plugs are part of the process, they will foul and need to be replaced when needed. Hint always run new plugs. Then you get a good indication of all your engine's needs. Reason this allows for the seating of the rings to the cylinder walls. The rings "must" wear to conform to the cyl. walls. After the rings seat.... then go too syn. This is an important step to a good breakin....Trust Me..

OK, what? 30:1, 40:1, 50:1, 30w oil, holy smoke (no pun intended). I was wrong when I posted before, My mix was 25:1, and it was not synthetic oil. Should I run another tank through it with the same mix, or go to a leaner mix, but stay with the non synthetic oil? or, should I go synthetic with a leaner mix, or just go synthetic?
