Mod stock cateye exhaust The stock cateye exhaust is the one with the dual muffler with a straight pipe which is stupid in my opinion. Wanna make your bike faster? Take off your exhaust, and look at the end of the pipe that bolts on to your manifold. The hole is very tiny and restricting, so you can take a drill bit or preferrably a dremel and clear it out and make it larger. This will allow more air to pass through. The best part is that its free and it will get you a little extra speed.
For the more serious tuners you can also cut the pipe on the weld that holds on the dual muffler and drill out the metal that was put in to restrict the pipe and muffler. Use a MIG or TIG welder to reattach the dual muffler. You will see all around awesome gains with this. Dont worry if the bracket does not align anymore i used some wire to hold it up.
If you really want power you can make some sort of expansion chamber in the middle of the pipe. I havent tried this yet but if anyone has let me know how it worked. Or just go to davesmotors.com and check out the cateye exhaust i bought one and i got all around gains this way to. The pipe cost me about 38 bucks which wasnt bad in my opinion cuz i got like 5 mph top end gain. Hope all this helps!
