Default Please help or this thing is getting thrown off the local bridge.

Like any typical male I was thinking more power, but now it seems that its slower than all the stock bikes running against me.

Current HP parts: 44mm big bore kit w/compatible crank; Black widow CAG reeds; WT-603 race ported carb (Walbro); K&N; intake manifold; other parts installed but have nothing to do with the running of the engine.

I read up on the adjustment of the WT-603 and followed it and here is were i'm at currently:
-started it up
-screwed idle in all the way
-adjusted low scew to get idle just right (so it wont die)

I put a load on it and the low end is good; the high end is killing me. I started with the high out at 2 1/2 turns and worked my way in (while under load 1/8th turn at a time) and I could not get it to not bogg down. Once 1/2 to full throttle is applied it dies under load.

If it dies, it starts back up easy, idles great and standing above it, I can get the front off the ground, but with all the HP parts i.e. bigger engine this thing should run like a raped ape. It doesnt seem to have no where the power the stock one does. The only stock parts on this thing is the engine casing and exhaust.

The only thing I wonder is, do I need to get bigger jets? Almost seems like to much air and not nearly enough fuel.

My engine has no leaks and seems to run great until you sit on it and try and move. HELP!!!! please...anyone or its getting ran over with my truck.

Any suggestions????

Those carbs can be tricky to set up. First take a look at the color on your plug, it should be tan.Try putting a fresh plug in for an accurate reading after then next steps. With that carb when tunning the high end screw crack the throttle wide open and adjust the high screw until the bike opens up properly and sounds right now back it off an 1/8 of a turn. Now ride it and fine tune, check your plug again and see what color it is. Also you may want to try fiberglass reeds rather than carbon fiber, they will flex more and give you more bottom end or launch speed. Once you have that carb set the bike will fly, Good Luck.

Default reed

you said the fiberglass reeds will give it a quicker response off the line.

the 2 stage black widow reeds are considerably tougher to bend. Will they allow for more top end vs the basic fiberglass ones?
