Default cranks over will not start..though

Ok.
pull start has sprang the coil so now i only have electric start to work with.
I know this bike runs because I pull started it and used it but then i mess up the pull start.

when i touch metal to metal the starter solenoid turns over which equals good battery and good starter.

the ignition lock when turn off positon did power it off (when i could pull start it) so i think it works too

question?what is the switch below the gas throttle?
the guy i bought this bike from said it must be press in to turn on electricaly but when i try to do---nothing no crank or anything

I'm thinking it could be bad??HOw do i test this?

Default ...ok but

well...
i should clarify it cranks over only when solenoid is touched metal to metal.

no crank over no sound no nothing when key is turned on and attempted to start electrically.

are you pulling in the clutch when you turn it over?

What happens when you try to kick start it?
