Default clutch problem

i replaced an old warn out stock clutch with a new stock clutch hoping to get more grab and better acceleration. i was riding yesterday and once in a while, ever 10 minutes, the back wheel gets really stiff and doesnt turn. the bikes till runs and if u give it gas it starts to move, then reaches about 4 mph and then stays at that speed. the back wheel is really hard to turn. pushing the bike wont turn it and it will just drag across the pavement. after i turn it off and let it cool for 5 minutes, everything is good and the back wheel is fine. whats going on? and i know i have a stock clutch but the new one i put in has less grab then the old one and lowers the acceleration. is there a way to improve a stock clutch to make it have more grab and acceleration?

did you have the rear tire off at any time? it sounds like the rear wheel is too tight or the spacers are in the wrong position causing the brake to drag
