Default Choke

hey can anyone tell me why my engine shuts off when my choke is closed? I need to keep it open all the time for the bike to run is that supposed to be?

When a choke is closed on a motor it "chokes" the motor of air introducing a rich condition (rich = more fuel, less air). That is how a choke is supposed to operate so everything is normal.

it is for cold starts. here in florida i dont use my choke at all, but in colder climates or even as the first start of the day you should close the choke for the 1st start. then depending on your bike a lot of times it will start and then die. then you would want to set the choke at half. usually it will run after that and then after it runs for a few moments you can open the choke all the way and go riding
