Best bet would be for you to bring it down to the track today. There will be a bunch of guys at Tru-Serv this afternoon. I'm sure one of us can help you out.

The rocket key (aka woodruff key) is a piece of metal that holds the flywheel in the same position on the end of the crank. Without the key, the f/w will move, throwing off the ignition timing.

If it's running well, then don't mess with it. A good investment is to put a fuel filter in if there isn't already on there. Canadian Tire sells one for lawnmowers. It's red (Briggs and Stratton part), but it is directional, I belive fat end towards the carb. I have one on my cag and it works like charm.

I'll do that, I also want to put a check valve on the fuel line so it wont keep flowing...

That's a great mod. I always run my carb dry by shutting off the fuel before putting the bike away, and that way no varnish and other crap forms in the carb while the bike is sitting.
