Default Overflow Issue

Alright so as you can see I'm very new here. I got a pocket bike recently and can't get it to run. Its a 49cc 2 stroke. What it does is, when i forst got it, it pissed out the overflow line like crazy and wouldn't start at all. So I took apart the carb and cleaned it really well. Put it all back together and voila it runs. But then it dies after moments of idling. So I try again and this time it stayed on a little longer but still cut out. Now it just keeps doing the same thing, any ideas? Thanks

Turn your idle screw on the carb clockwise 1/4 turns until it idles properly.

the float is getting stuck open, thats whats causing the leaking from the overflow. To really fix it youll need to take the float bowl off and give it a good cleaning, you can also bend out the little arms slightly, which should keep it from getting stuck. A temporary fix is to just tap the bottom of the float bowl with a hammer or just bounce the bike up and down a few times..

the cut out issue could be your idle screw or you could check your choke also, it may not be opening all the way and therefore not getting enough air.

i just joined today and have this same problem.
i have swapped so many parts in my carb, and taken it off and cleaned alot of times. i turn the gas on, wait till it starts running out all over, turn the gas off and let some run out, and then start it. i turn the gas back on and go ride, it doesnt leak untill its turned off. but its a pain to get running. mine is just a 49cc as well.
any other ideas?

i know exactly whats wrong. ur float is stuck! when ur float is stuck it lets gas in and when gas keeps coming in it has no where to go thats why it leaks out... now cleaning ur carb will solve the problem. guaranteed u just need to do it right.
