Exhaust pipe melted my gas tank - PocketBikeForum.com

Ok so my dad won a gas powered pocket bike and brought it home. Well we got it all fueled up, mixed it right and everything. It started on the first pull. We did not go at the fastest speed like it said and we were having fun taking turns on it. Everything seemed all right, all we noticed was the seat getting a little hot, because of the back of the exhaust. After about 20 minuets the front started smoking I got off it and my dad took the top off because he saw that the exhaust was white hot and melting the gas tank. luckily it did not catch fire we got it off in time. My question is now after that story is does anyone know how to stop that from happening again? Some modification I can do? And where I can order a new gas tank? Please and Thank You

you can go out and find a small gas tan about half the size actually. Its used on the elite's. And FYI gas will not ignite if it pours on your exhaust pipe. It will just boil. it needs an ignition source a spark or something. (coming from experience)

u can use any thing as a tank just get one of those nos enrgy drink bottles and zapstrap it on the side of the bike and run the fuel line into it( EVERY ONE WILL THINK ITS REAL BOOST) thats what i have done as an extra gas tank

but if u do it ull never melt ur tank again
