Default help,my_lights_dont_work!

I have a GS-59B,its a 4stroke,1cyclinder,110cc,air cooled, automatic super pocketbike.A friend was trying to start the bike when i wasent around and he stuck a metalwire where the re-charging plug for the battery goes.He was supposed to insert it where the fuse belongs.(Its the way I have to start the bike because the fuse cover came off while I was riding one day.)I know whata idiot.Anyway, of course there was a spark and after that all lights and signals didnt function. However the speedometer&rpm gauge function, but when i turn on the headlight switch the two shut off?Can anybody tell me what happend & what I need to do to get them working again.(sorry about the annoying space marks, my space-bar dosent work)

(admin edit, spaces fixed)

If the speedo and tach work with the headlight off and don't work with the headlight on then you have a simple short.

The not so simple issue is you're going to need to pull your wiring to figure out where the short it.

Of course the quick and easy solution is to simply rewire the headlight switch with a new wire. That way the short may still be there but you're bypassing it. That is only a temporary solution!

You still have a short somewhere and it can lead to a fire, which as we all know is bad.

I could only find one place quickly that can supply you with a new harness. Perhaps they have a wiring diagram you can purchase to help you troubleshoot.
