Fixed bike ty guys but one problem... - PocketBikeForum.com

Hey guys i read the guide on fixing the bike under stallin ty for that but one problem my acceleration is screwed up!! When i start the bike it starts going by itself. Some of my friends sayd its because after i put the Carburetor back on i didnt do the acceleration bit on thetop properly.

Dunno any of u guys have any ideas?

Did you touch the Idle screw at all? cause if so then you probably loosened it making the idle go faster when you are adjusting this adjust it until the tire stops spinning.

its either that or that you did not install the throttle cable correctly into the carbourator if you look there will be a slit on the needle and a notch inside the carbourator you need to align those two up to have it work properly.

The idle screw really doesn't do much on a cag except at idle (hence the name). It is not there to adjust the air/fuel mixture as you would see on a carb in a car or truck.

Odds are that the idle screw was turned and this is causing the problem as shawn said.

Also maybe ya broke a clutch pad or spring , also something that would contribute to the tire spinning during idle , and bad idle when on the ground (rough) !

Dude sounds like youe Throttle Cable is Binding Somewhere

Hmm whats a idle screw LOL! ia m a noob and please sumone explain how to do it and where it is because i dont know much about pocketbikes :S

it is a screw on the side of the carb... its the only screw with a spring turning it clock-wise will make it idle faster and the other way will make the idle slower... personally I think its the easiest thing to maintain in a bike

YA , look on the side of the carb , there is a screw ( slotted style ) with a spring on it . that is the idle screw !
too far in and the tire will start spinning , and engine will run faster during idle , to far out and there will be too much fuel and no air for the engine .
I usually start by screwing the screw all the way in , careful not to tight !
From there i will back out screw 2 FULL TURNS out , form there i have a good starting point to start adjusting , from there start the bike , if the tire or engine is reving to loud or tire starts to spin , then back out the screw , slowly and in small increments till stops spinning or till engine runs right !
I assume you could check the spark plug and this will tell me as well if your running lean or rich !
