Ok , downloaded the degree wheel , used andnoticed i will have to use a huge gasket , does that make sence or am i screwing up ! a gasket like 2.0 mm , seems to me that i may be doing something wrong , there for with a gasket that big , may have to shave the same off the top . is this a possibility ?
if this is the case , huck pull out the tools ! If not , what did i do wrong ,
I want to write the no. down but dunno which u mean ( sorry for being mental on this one )

With the cylinder on , at tdc , i start and go down , the exhaust seems to open slower than needed on degree wheel , it is like 3 degree 's off ( so on the wheel shows that there is 3 notches past the point it says to open , so if it supposed to open at 80 degrees , it only starts to open at 83-84 degrees , hence the big gasket on the cylinder and also the intake closed early hence the gasket as well !

Am i on the right track ? Thanks !

yeah sounds like you could be on the right track. this is on my cag so I will let you know what i did with that...

I had to use a 2mm shim in order to get the timing right. I cant remember on this kit if I machined down the top or not...hmmm, sorry drawing a blank it has been awhile. But I as able to get my squish down to .5mm. So in theory you could be on the right track with it all....just depending on if you are looking at the wheel right, and have it mounted right.

you get my pm on my site about the motor? I know it is kinda pricey but it rocks.... :) let me know....

Dan

ps, on my C1 I have to tear it back down which I didnt have time last time i did the port and case work on it, so it went together with just a squish measurement and not a timing measurement....that will happen though a little later

So this degree wheel can be mounted any where and starting point anywhere , as long as you have the tdc?Right?

well you need to mount it to your crank. if you are measuring the degrees I guess if you just want to know the actualy degrees you can do the math based on pointing it anywhere to start. But if you come across any software you wont be able to input the right numbers for an accurate read out on what your bike is doing....
