| Pocketbike Dealer | Yeppers again , gonna try and make it fast , Big Bone gonna need your help on this one ! ( not that it is anything new LOL) Taking it completely apart , well actually already did ! And want to get everything right on it ! This one is going to be low budget , but will get everything the way it should run , already have the delorto and its jetted right (hopefully) with Black widow reeds , just Big bone has been speaking of this potential that i feel i should ( or everyone for that matter ) unleash on these rides. So like i said going to buy some stuff but mainly used , mainly 2 or 3 piece rims , steering dampner, etc. I really want to see my C1 fly this season ! my thoughts are : - opening the intake area in the crank - adjusting the squish - moding exhaust can ya think of anything else off hand ?

| Administrator Friends call me God ;) | Talked to Kris earlier today and the truck should be in primer by tonight. Then just a bit of sanding and prepping and two days of paint and it's done. I don't think he'll have enough time this week to finish prepping it so probably another week and it'll be done. |

that you refer to - the intake area, is the spot that needs some attention when you say opening up. But first before I discribe to you My Ideas, place the cylinder,.... Place the cylinder Dude pay attention, into its position on Half or just one of the Cases. Take a Sharpie or Magic (black) Marker and color the areas of the cylinder and the half case where ANY material/case or cyl. don't match. In other words, the crankcase port should not have any obstructions or overlapping of the two parts. Dude you, of all the Dudes should be able to follow this Idea. Dude just match the ports of the cylinder to match the port of the case in hand, I used a High speed Dremel type tool with a Tunston high speed bit. Commonly called a Dremel because the predominant maker of this tool is, of course, Dremel. There are other good makers of this great tool such as the Black and Decker RTX model. The principles of usage are the same across the board because they all work pretty much the same but there are some differences. Are you paying attition Dude...If you are shopping around for one there are some careful considerations to keep in mind. My model is one of the most common, the Dremel MultiPro. I purchased mine as a kit that included: the tool, a nice tool box to keep it in, and various bits. I didn't buy mine at a hardware store. I got mine at a nation-wide retail store chain for around $45. If you are looking at kits, it is my experience to be careful not to buy a kit that includes a lot of stuffs that you may never use. In reality, what you are going to be using 95% of the time is: cutting disks (reinforced cutting disks are highly recommended if not insisted on), grinding stones, sanding bits. That's it, everything else is gravy. Now for the intake area. notice the curve of of the intake. That curve acts like a reed cage, but it also does not allow the Reed to open sifficently. Remove only about 1 - 2mm of material on the top and bottom; not the sides. use your fingernail to open the reed before you start to get a good visual of the reed action, and this is the part where your have to see/imagine the action of the Reeds. try and leave the basic conture of its original form.......Remember a little good, alot bad.. i.e. adding volume to crank case. And round those little nubs off that lead into the crank case fuel air area. youll see 'em, top and bottom on BOTH sides again before you start use you Magic Marker to indicate the material you plan to remove and stick to you Ideas, don't go overboard and drill for Oil.... so to speak. Take your Freak'in time and Think. And last narrow the divider in the cyl. port but leave it blunt, don't shapen it to a wedge.. think how an Airplane wing works.....Hmmmmmm Airplane Wing.......lift....nevermind thats probably over your head (pun) I love puns. Then take two asprin and call me in the morning..... I'll send you My Bill (note to self; Bill him for One Fine Azz Redhead) And if you and HuckDude got the Nads, Lighten the Flywheel..........But Dude thers still more to Due.....Replace those stinking Chinese Brgs. iIf you take off the shield you'll see what I mean. Put in a set of Hybrid Ceramic's "Baca" is a great brg maker. | Decent Rider | even on these C1s you will want your squish to be dialed in around .5mm. Opening up your reed cage area as big bone mentioned is an excellent idea as it is very restrictive. also getting rid of the sharp corners is a must... Are you running a stock C1 cylinder? if so you have much more work to do than just case matching imo. The transfers close to the case are too small, as well as the boost up the back. open up those transfers and the rear boost then match to your case and you will significantly increase the overall performance of your bike. I actually like this http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=40432 better than a dremel....whatever you do, do not use grinding stones that are generic, have you ever tried one and notice that they leave chuncks of aluminum in them? Well they are for non ferrus metals, and with aluminum they load up and can explode. I usually just go through a bunch of sanding drums, or do partial cuts on my mill then finish off with the rotary.... |
