Default filling silencer with steel wool

ok i did as the guys said and filled my silencer with steel wool to try to get it a bit quieter. When i fired it up, i didnt notice a difference. i packed it in there pretty tight, could this be the reason? is it supposed to be loose in there?

you can also go to your local motorcycle shop and get some packing for the silencer, just ask for the smallest pack they have you will have enough left to do it again, i have heard to use steel wool but never heard it worked

i would wrap it around pretty tight, as much as i could.tighter it is the less noise can leak out, plus you don`t want it to rattle.just wrap it tight to where you can barley get your tip back over it,good to go!!hope that helped friend:)

Your exhaust isn't gonna be catching the steel wool on fire...unless you're spittin flames. lol. As for using steel wool...that's what magnaflow uses in their exhausts.
