Default Can't get 110cc 4 stroke started

Hi,

I recently aquired a used pocket bike 110cc 4 stroke that wasn't running. So I replaced battery, spark plug, fuel filter, gas lines plus cleaned and adjusted the carburetor. The bike then started right up just fine. Let it sit over night and now won't start. It cranks, but won't turn over. It fired up for a second or two and then died and can't get it started again. There is what appears to be a small amount of burnt fuel (looks like oil) dripping out of where the exhaust meets the engine when trying to start. The exhaust is tighted to the crank case, but still leaks a bit. Any ideas what are keeping it from starting now?

Note that on many of the 110cc 4 stroke bikes you must have the clutch pulled in before it will start. Think of it like a neutral safety switch.

Fix the exhaust leak by replacing the gasket or use high temp RTV (high temp silicone).

Lots of gas probably means it's flooded. Give it a break for a while and try again. You may have fouled the plug so you might want to take it out and clean it up.

Default Thanks

Thanks The plug didn't look fouled, but I changed it and it started up.

Plugs don't need to be fouled to be bad, they can also be weak or dead.
