| Decent Rider | Hi I am new to pocket bikes. I am new to this forum. I need lots of help ._. I didn't break in my pocket bike yet, I bought it few days ago. The man who sold it to me went on full throttle when it was brand new out of the box. I told him it's bad for the bike but he said he knew what he was doing. The front wheels aren't smooth, and it takes alot of effort to spin them. After riding my bike today, the front disk brake was really hot, but I only used the back brake, so the problem is that the brakes are touching when I'm not using it. I need help on tuning the brakes, only the inner part of the brake is touching. Does the inner part of the brake move at all? =/ Anyways, I need help on fixing it before my brake pad wears out, thanks people for your help ^^ PS: Whenever I let go of the throttle the bike slows down abnormally, is it because of the brakes? The wheel has been getting smoother lately, is that bad because the brake pads are wearing out? My bike looks like this, but this isn't my bike I just found it randomly on the internet. Free Image Hosting at AllYouCanUpload.com It's made in china 49cc. And one more thing, should I use synthetic oil to break in or no? I bought synthetic AND non synthetic oil, but since the guy there tortured my bike do I need to use synthetic. I read somewhere that you need to use non synthetic to break in your pocket bike but mine got tortured, should I still use synthetic? Please help, thanks Last edited by Hic : 07-19-2007 at 10:52 PM. | Administrator Friends call me God ;) | The brakes are definately adjusted too tight. They work similar to bicycle brakes if you are familiar with them. If not then I would suggest you find someone to help you that can adjust them for you. It is simply a matter of loosening a bolt and pulling a cable, but if not done correctly they will be too tight or too loose and won't help you stop at all. |

| Also there is a round, flat adjuster on most bikes,it has an e-clip on the end of it (its on your caliper)you turn it to straighten the pads true with your rotor, turn it till it turns loose, spin the wheel with it off the ground,if it spins free you got it if not keep turning the adjuster, then spin the wheel, etc. |
