Default Classes !

Well been looking at my bikes , wondering , HOW do i go faster ! ( some of you may ask , why , your beating everyone now over here ) . Honestly , want to see if i can get mine going really really good !
BUT got to thinking , how does our class system work ?

Well when we go over to calgary or sask . what rules do they go by ......

Pocketbike Stock 40 cc
* anything up to 40 cc can race .
* China reps may mod , except original crankcase !
* Every other bikes stock

Pocketbike Open 50 cc
* anything moded or not , under 50 cc !

This got me thinking ...... the US does this

Featherweight
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes must be Cag - Blata 2.5 HP production* bikes with no engine modifications allowed except to clutch, air box and wheels or Chinese Manufacture Cagllari-Daytona style pocketbikes with no modifications to any part of bike with the exception that any production air filter may be used. Blata 2.5 bikes may use a 14-14 SHA carburetor. Exhaust canister is preferred but not required.

Production 4.2
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Blata Elite 13 Jr. - Polini Powered 4.2
Modified Blata 2.5
Modified Cag
Bikes must have production* based Polini Series 1 engines OR Blata Elite 13 Jr. 4.2. Bikes may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm SHA carburetor. Stamped (seamed, stock) exhaust systems must be used and any production* dual reed conversion may be used. Pocketbikes competing in this class may not have any clutch, flywheel or wheel upgrades. The spirit of this class is to have box-stock pocketbikes competing.

Production 6.2
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Blata Elite 14 6.2
Polini Powered 6.2, 7.5
Modified Blata Elite 13 Jr.
Modified Polini Powered 4.2
Pocketbikes must have production* based Polini Series 2 engines or Blata Elite 14 engines. Bikes may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm SHA carburetor. Pocketbikes competing in this class may have no exhaust, crank, flywheel, reed or wheel upgrades.
++ Classifications for 'modified' bikes in this class: Bikes must have production based Polini Series 1 OR Blata Elite 13 Jr. 4.2 engines and may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm SHA carburetor. Race/stuffed cranks may be used for these modified configurations only.

(NEW FOR 2007)
**Modified Production 6.2
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Blata Elite 14 6.2
Polini or BZM Powered 6.2
Modified Blata Elite 13 Jr.
Modified Polini Powered 4.2
Pocketbikes must have production* based Polini Series 2 engines or Blata Elite 14 engines. Bikes may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm SHA carburetor. Pocketbikes competing in this class may have no crank upgrades. Any exhaust may be used.

Super Production
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+ and 174 lbs or less ONLY
Polini-style Powered 8.5 or higher
AMG Powered
Bizeta Super Production Powered
Blata Elite 14
Polini Powered 6.2
Bikes must have production* based Polini Stage 2 engines or Blata Elite 14 and cannot have any engine upgrades with the exception that race/stuffed cranks may be used. Bikes may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm SHA carburetor.

Sumo Super Production
Seniors 16+ and over 175 lbs ONLY
Polini-style Powered 8.5 or higher

Open Class
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Polini, ZPF, BiZeta, AMG Powered
One-off product acceptable. Motors may be air or water cooled, up to 50cc 3, 4 , 5 OR 6 port heads. Bikes may have unlimited modifications to all parts of bike but must be naturally aspirated. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used. Any clutch, flywheel, carburetor, exhaust, reeds, and air box may be used.

Which personally is real kool ,but need riders for everyclass , and well , do not have that may of us here .

So back to my dellema.......

My 40 cc is going to remain stock . that way in the lots and on the road , i am always able to ride it in 40 cc class .
BUT the 50 will be moded soon ! Hopefully by the time i hit sask !
Thanxs BB . For the advice !

Those classes kind of suck, in my opinion. What class do our 40cc bikes race in in the USMGP? 50cc open! Super proddy is a 14mm carb on a 3-port head, then the next class up is open.

Most of us have a 5-port 40cc bike with a bigger than 14mm carb, including my Polini, your green BMS, Vern's Elite and B1, and Shawn's B1. Putting them in 50cc open class would suck, since a guy wouldn't be able to compete on a big track.

If you go by the rules, your 40cc BMS can only race in open class (18mm carb), so you have 2 bikes for the same class.

I hope one day we will have the numbers at our club to have multiple classes. That would give me an excuse to buy a second bike. Shawn has the right idea with his Elite. I'd love an air-cooled 6.2 hp bike. Putting a Polini engine into that frame was the best idea Blata ever had.

Even with the simplified AMRA classes, the lines are a bit blurry. My Polini has a 19mm carb, but I'm pretty sure it came stock with a 15mm. Does that count as a mod, and bump it up to 50cc class?

Yes i know all of this ...........Well to tell you the truth , the only reason my bike makes the 40 cc class is due to the manufacturer makes it this way , as for my head , i only have a 3 port on it .
Yes i do think the US classes are a bit weird on occasion . BUT alot of people with different bikes helps !

That was one of the problems in calgary , was the 5 port heads on the 40 cc bikes , which where supposed to run in the 50 class . But Being most of them chinese and the amount of riders present with pb's , i think they descided to overlook it .
All in all , the 40 of mine will stay as is ........ the 50 , look out , got a list of parts growing here , and won't be cheap !

As for shawn and the right idea , it would have been buy a bike without blatas name on it ! It is a nice bike , but Who does he race ?

Default My class suggestions

For our club, when we get the numbers to run more than just one class:

1. Air cooled: any industrial-based engine, can include any cag engine or Bluebird industrial engine (Blata 2.5). All mods allowed, but must remain naturally aspirated and must burn gasoline.

2. 40cc Open: Any 40cc 2-stroke air or liquid cooled engine. All carburetors, exhaust and cranks alowed. Internal modifications are permitted, but must be naturally aspirated and run on gasoline.

3. 50cc Open: Any 2-stroke air or liquid cooled engine to a mazinmum displacement of 50cc. Anything goes, but must be naturally aspirated and run on pump gas. Vern's DM is not allowed.

Want the same motor to try and see if i can do what i am going to do to my 50.

This was not to try and change classes btw , it was a way of sying , if you mod your bike what class will i be in , and or which bike should i mod this year and would help my advantages of seeing a podium !

I have really been trying to take my racing seriously , meaning trying to learn on my own the best way to race , in all cases . Starts , following and holding a line , which line to follow , bike tech , and personal riding preference ! Some one posted a rescently that i rode like s*** , by looking at one piceture , and not knowing what part of the track i was on , stated that i was a tart on an expensive bike that did not know how to ride . tisk tisk , found out where your really from Mr. overseas , try , in canada , and alberta for that matter ! Hope you come out dip s*** , peanut dick !
So anyways , as i was saying , tying everything , not to mention braking and leaning ( turns ) .
I noticed right away when racin Inthelead83 that by taking my turns different than he was and braking different as well , i was able to gain lots of ground , and quick . Slowing up to make him keep up , i needed the practice of waiting for his slip up to over take .

So back to classes ........
so indeed the 40 will stay the same and maybe in the market for a 14 / 14 SHA delorto ! just for any occasion ! All in all will stay the same .....
the 50 is getting the engine over haul . easy , cheap and will make me faster than before on it .....
I am not at liberity to say what i am to do .... this one i am keeping under my hat , But I will say i have gearing and a new water pump a waiting for me to pay . Not to mention jetting . But other than that , your just going to have to look at it yourself when the stuff is on , and still prob won't notice except for when you pull in at the finish line and i am out of my gear , sitting on a lawn chair watching the exact race i just finished 1st in seeing whom will come in second LMAO!

So basically i will have a 40 cc stock class bike
and an open 50cc bike!

HUH!
ok
wanna talk aboout winnipeg and classes !
YOU WANT IT YOU ALL GOT IT !
Welcome china class !

What do we say for rules?
Can you put euro parts on , how about a delorto ? or lets say a banshee , with polini reeds?
To what limit can they go ..... would that banshee i sold TQBOY last year been a chinese class or euro ?
this is where i do not know !

So Cags as well, where do they go . DO we dismiss it or , keep it , or add it to chinese class.
And this works out perfect ...... I wanted to start to direct races , and make races more regimented , like last weekend , with the race day , but as those that came saw , its hard to do .
I am buying a Whistle , or air horn to get everyones attention . This is why races never get under way ! Inthelead83 , can i leave you in charge of going and buying a device that will get everyones attention at the races . Weither it be a referee whistle or a blow horn, do what ever fits the budget . As well , we need a BIG clock which i have !

So here they are , see them first hand .

Races will be more regimented with a device to notify everyone of races .
A clock to reference by , on Billboard
and not to mention the classes ......

47 cc Cagillari Open Class
* Anything goes !
50 cc Open Chinese Pocketbike
* no rules set as of yet
40 cc Open Pocketbike
* 40 cc pocketbikes and under , Euro and chinese
* Open , all mods are allowed
50 cc Open Pocketbike
* 50 cc pocketbikes and under , Euro and chinese
* Open , all mods are allowed

what you think?

Open Chinese class is a GREAT idea!!! I should have thought of that! I guess I just had my first (and hopefully only) Euro-snob moment. My new bike is so much fun, I forgot how much better it is than my C2.

So, for now, how about a cag, Chinese and a Euro class, and if you want to race a slower bike one class up, go ahead. No cags with Euros, but other bikes can race one higher. For example, Jeremy is doing a pretty good job of hanging with the Euros on his Banshee. Any guy who wants to try to hang with the Euro bikes on a China bike is in for some good practice.

I really want to keep the club fun for the new people, so I am a very enthusiastic supporter of a Chinese class. Heck, that's what my elite is for.
