Today's rant is courtesy of all those wonderful people that want things for free.

I'm not talking about taking a bitof time from someone. I'm talking about those dumbasses who want "things" for free.

Give me a free account and i'll tell all my friends about you! Sure, right after you generate $1k in sales for me I'll give you and account.

Buy something for me and you can advertise on my site! Sure I'll buy something for you, right after you generate 1,000,000 unique hits to my site because no one goes to yours.

Well I bought the bike, give me a free pipe! Sure i'll give you a free pipe, right after you buy another 3 bikes.

No matter what business I'm doing at the moment, there's always some jackoff that expects things for free and then expects that my business will be hurt because I didn't give him free stuff.

Sure we all want free stuff, but profit margins in a lot of cases are thin and business owners can't afford to give things away for free. We can't take the chance that by giving you something we "might" see something in return. There has to be an honest and valid potential for return.

Wow what a Great Rant AdminDude. What may I ask was the thing that got you all fired up? Like Dude, did someone pee in your Wheaties or what?

It was a person (not from here) who was asking if someone would buy forum software (such as vbulletin, about $170US) in return for free advertising on their site. This was an already existing forum with thousands of members and already serving advertising.

Whatever their business model is, they just want something for nothing. I easily put out hundreds per month or more promoting sites, giving things away, buying stuff for them etc when they don't make money because in the end I know they will return it plus more.
