Default 911 crank

Does anyone know what is "acceptable" play on the crankshaft for moving back and forth in the case? I just installed new crankshaft bearings and noticed a bit of play side to side. Is some play acceptable??
Thanks!

Default if it is the sonectting rod

if it is tyhe connecting rod to the crank you are talking about, some play is ok. but as long as you dont have stroke play.

Thanks Huckster. it's not the stroke play. How much do you think is acceptable...probably moving 2-4mm??
