Default Why is dis so hard !

Ok ,
Just want to rant , how come , i have been posting every Winnipeg based site for parking lots and areas for us to race . We all know i have the proper insuances ( or can get ) , and all waivers are signed and we aren't the Hells Angels on pb's ( LOL ) , So why is it we get the third degree , ya wanna know -
personally i blame all of you riding the streets at night making noise , making those that sleep pissed , and those incompetent idiots that make the choice to ride around and look OH SO COOL , with out a helmet , and end up splitting there heads open or braking a leg !

See i keep getting responses like " oh those things are dangerous " all the time and " well , you know you have to have the proper insurance " No kidding ...............

The only thing left to do is to have all my info in one neat package . The insurance , the waivers , pictures of present and past parking lots used and , incident reports of last races . Maybe even as far as bring the gear we use , and a bike !

Personally i do not ride on the roads , and if i do ride somewhere proper it is with my gear !
Come on guys this year lets think long term and make it easier on the guys going out and trying to find us areas to ride ,
Thanks :P

Blame the media. They print whatever is going to shock people.

Just like in the last post I made I stated that ignorance abounds. It's our job to teach people why their preception of pocketbikes is wrong.

For something like what you're doing you should have a little package made up. Show some images of riders wearing safety gear, proof of insurance, previous racing/riding spots, letters of endorsement and all that kind of crap. It might make your time easier.

This is so true that a few idiots make it harder for everybody else, just ask me!! When I was into target shooting, because of the the local homies doing drive bys and taking out each other the media made it look that anybody with a gun was ready to walk into a mall wearing camos and start shooting. Guns are fun but only if you respect them. Personally I loved it but I never had the urge to go play sniper. From what the I hear the PC'S re going to let any new gun laws die. The millions they have already spent on the gun registry is a friggin' waste of money that could have better been spent elsewhere!!! Our roads already have potholes big enuff to take out Vin Diesel driving a Hummer.

Yes i guess we can relate to alot of different areas of life , media , guns , gangs , 2-stroke motors , etc.

The main thing to due i assume is to not let it get you down , to keep fighting for something , no matter what it is ! You can never get something from somebody without giving in return ! I bet we had maybe 25 different sites last year and maybe 4 of them took off !

And thats where i wonder is it our approach, are we asking the wrong people when we approach businesses, do we not have our s*** together !
Maybe ! Only one way to find out ! Change the way where looking ! INDUSTRIAL PARKS - these are our best bet , seeing as usually no one is there on the weekends and the noize we tend to make , we to me is the sound of music, but to others , a annoying bee or fly!

Got some prospects of places for the summer! might cost us some money ( i am talking like 10 bucks each ) to ensure that we get it for the year , and again peeps don't like doin' stuff for free!

I agree with admin. The media is doing this crap. I have seen some articles in my paper and on the news about how dangerous they are. and how everyone rides with shorts t-shirt no helmet on the streets. bah

Dude calm down for just a minute, sit back and take a deep breath.
You havn't failed. You just got an enterdution to politics. Now this is just a wakeup call. You need to have all your Ducks in a row, call it a presentation if you will. You will also need Allies. Use the media to your advantage Dude. Get someone to look at all the tragities that have occured and force them to look at the grusume details of it all. Then have them look at it from your pespective, i.e. Orginized Partisapation in a racing League. If you build it, they will come kinda mentality. Dude you have all the right info at hand, now show them you mean Buisness. Treat this as a Buisness, with a Buisness type attitude. There is strenght in Numbers, so you have to get these people to see that this is the right way to keep the young'ins off the streets. By Prviding a safe and secure place to ride and compete, that this is the only alternitive. Make them see this is as a good thing and don't get your panies in a bunch, they will come around, Dude they will come around. Unite Brothers Unite. This Pep talk was brought to you by Bigbone57 Your South of the Border Brother. Keep up the good work Gil.

there is this site , don't wanna say , that keeps telling , in there posts , that they should send this guy to my shop to talk about his incident on a pb ! i guess they think he would tear into me ! GUESS WHAT ! WRONG !i will tell this goof exactly his prob , and that , sorry but you know what , if ya didn't fall i would probably have kicked you off of it !
there is nothing that any one can say to me that say this is too dangerous of a sport ! Whats dangerous is allowing these idiots to keep on bashing this sport , with no retort! Actually dangerous is coming to my shop and telling me that PB"S suck LOL Just kidding , Anyways , I am a greenhouse in Winnipeg , a hydroponic one to boot , and i already get the gears about my job , lost it because the of the morron cops , parents are questioned all the time from friends , people wispering crap behind you , wondering !
And threw all of that , i learned if you don't stand up for what you belive in , hence this sport , and bite back to people that bark and bash , we will never get anywhere with this . Instead of whispering , "ah ah excuse me "
SCREAM " Hey man , whats up , this is what I am into , and it is the funnest , most intense ride you will ever have "!

The issue is ignorance.

People love to talk about stuff that they know nothing about (just look at all the articles I've written!).

This guys "incident" on his pocketbike was not done at a legal track (we don't have one) so he's breaking rule number 1 (obey the law). He probably wasn't wearing a full face helmet, riding suit, spine protector, gloves or even knee pads damnit.

Just like that jerk who got into the papers last year with his injuries on his PB. He wasn't wearing a helmet, was riding on the sidewalk and ended up hitting a car. Dumbass thought he was cool and ended up being news.
