Arrow cant charge the battery? im stumped

ok so i got on craigslist and traded my old snowboard for a pocket bike... im not sure of the brand or anything but it is larger than the mini bikes so i think that makes it a super pocket bike. full fairings, blh blah blah... anyways, the guy i got if from basically just had it sitting in his garage for like a year and it hasnt been started since... so i charged the battery overnight and all day the next day and the electric starter still wont even make a sound... i have the key on and am doing everything right... there is no pull start either... i am an electricion too, so i checked the wiring and everything looks like new, nothing wrong... i just havent put a meter on it yet to check voltages (im doing that today after work though) - the thing is though, that i dont work with batteries and so here are my questions: 1) if the battery sits for around a year without charging it or running the bike, can it be charged or does the battery just go bad? - and 2) is there any way to "push start" this motor? (its the 49cc electric start)

one more thing... since i dont know what brand i will describe it to you and hopefully later i will be able to post pictures... but it is a super pocket bike with the lights, signals, and a speedo that goes to 30 and thats the only guage... it has two round headlights that are approx. 2" wide and two tail lights about the same size... chrome wheels, not the painted ones, and treaded tires... i will post pics as soon as i can...

thank you

I see this all the time where I work.. I work in a production plant with electric forklifts.... if the battery stays in the cold or damp place for too long the cells die and needs to be replaced or even in the battery was on concrete... battery cells hate cold and damp places... where we keeps our batterys is really hot but we can't put them on the floor... it only takes about a week for the cells to die... I have never seen those kind of batterys for pb's but maybe it just needs water

Default Battery

They Are Garbage And If You Get A Full Year You Are Lucky. Also Make Sure To Check The Ignition Fuse. Esspecially If The Starter Dont Turn With A Boost.

Of course you can check voltage, then check voltage under load as well. I am assuming it is a 12 volt system. Double check this and if it is try giving it a boost from a booster pack or place your battery charger onto the battery in the bike and try starting it that way. Don't boost it from a car/truck/van though.

If it starts then you know it's a simple battery issue. If not then you might need to take a look at the starter.

I have little to no experience with these types of bikes, but as far as I know I thought they all had pull starts as backups.

wesrock sux

Seriously though, I'll see what I can find. Won't promise anything though.

Dimensions of the battery would be great, as well as any specs on the battery itself. A picture would be good as well.
