Default Carburetor leaking problem on brand new bike??

Hello, Bought a new bike. 49cc, never been on the road yet and fired it up 3 times now. On the third time the carb. began to leak. I did the drop the rear end a few times, about 6" from ground. Did not help. I took the carb bowl off and moved the float and the valve around. I put it back together and did the same thing. Remove the bowl a second time. Does the same thing.

My question is. On the float which way does it face. One side is smooth and flat, the other has a ridge and a small bump on top.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thank you, The Rev. AC

Did you ensure the entire carb was disassembled and put back together? Typically the problem is dirt causing the needle to stick open. As for the float I can't remember so I'll have to leave that to someone else.

Just make sure the lever for the float is adjusted properly. Take the carb out. Push the float up and blow on the inlet side of the carb see if you can blow through it. If not then you are fine. Its just probably a simple adjustment on your Float lever. Check the needle too it should have a rubber tip. Good luck.

well the chinese people will start it up for a sec. then shut it down and after a while with that crappy gas in there it will clog up so what you need to do is clean your carb. check out my tutorial. http://www.pocketbikeforum.com/tutor...e-stallin.html

If there's a LOT of oil (smoke and/or oil dripping) out the exhaust it simply means you're putting in too much. Make sure you measure properly.

50%?? I think thats a little too much it mean one part oil to 50 parts gas... but with the prices of gas right now we might have to go 50% just to save money
