Unhappy Fairing fixing !

Seen alot of posts on fixing fairings , then seen the work , some good ..........
BUT , i need to know the right way ......, actually we all need to know !
with the speeds driven on the track crashing is always a possiblity .......... sometimes its just so small that buying a new kit is probably not necessary!
So hows it done?

Most users can't paint their own bikes, so for most it comes down to simply fixing the crack.

Fixing a crack isn't going to make the fairing look pretty unless it's painted, but it will be stronger than factory.

Use a two part autobody epoxy such as 3M Automix between the broken pieces and underneath the fairing. After the epoxy has dried it can then be ground down to look as close to flush as possible.

This type of epoxy is flexible. Paint as necessary.

Well first off going to use fiber glass , and body filler to make it beauty! I will try and attempt it !

So far looking awesome , got the fiberglass on , now drying , then sanding next !

Fibreglass will work as well, but Kris found the epoxy quicker and not as messy.

Yes i could see that but , read that by layering 2 on each side of fairing ( inside and out ) that the strenght is unbelieveable!

It's strong stuff, one could conceivably make his/her own moulds and start making fairings. Of course you would have to deal with all that fibreglass and sanding. The labour would probably kill any profits.

don't even get me started on fiber glass I had a heck of a time doing my seat... I just made a mess out of mine but stronger then the original... I thought I could just do it but its harder then it looks... I think it can hold up to any crash now though
