Suggestion: Race School? - PocketBikeForum.com

Hey everyone,

It occurred to me while out on Sunday that it might be a neat idea to take a half-hour and do a "race school" such as they do for trackdays.

Beginning riders could do laps accompanied by an advanced rider and get some pointers on lines and riding techniques. At the Gimli race school this is done by first "following the leader" and then having the instructor follow you around so he/she can critique your speed, lines, body positioning on the bike, etc.

I know this would be beneficial for new riders (including me) who may have experience on "big bikes" but who could benefit from pointers on riding the small ones.

This could be made worthwhile for the "instructor" by having the "students" chip in an extra 5 bucks or something for his time.

This is actually planned for if/when we get a dedicated track. Kris (pb x-treme) and myself spoke about this quite a while ago. If he's interested I'll ask him if he's willing to offer his time for a 30-90 minute lesson.

ya... then maybe I can learn how not too fall or not as often... I feel kind of bad cuz I wasn't the first one to have a big fall on sunday... but oh well maybe next time I'll do a good donation

Hey i don't know how old you'd have to be, but i am willing to do that for cags. i don't mind teaching the younger ones, but thats if it's not a problem for you guys!
