Default New bike, help, tips, and suggestions needed!

Hey this is my first time posting on any pocket bike forum, but im really excited since i have recently bought one of my own. I'm really looking forward to modifying mine for the best performance and learning all this technical talk you guys do in here. Today i took it out for the 4th day in a row and was the 1st time i did a sort of speed test with a car traveling beside me to determine the rough speed. Well i was a little dissapointed, the guys at the shop said 85/100 km/h and the book reads 90 km/h 55Mph with installed ratio, and i didnt reach anywhere near that. I clocked out at 60 Km\h. The bike is really fast and speedy and has a lot of power and pick up, but i want to achieve the speed that was advertised to me. I'm 6'2 160LBz so weight can't be a problem, i really don't get what it could be. Anyone have any tips or suggestions, i'm a new comer and i really want this to perform as it was advertised, then start performance upgrades. The man aslo said it was a hemi engine. Pics attached.. i took off the body for the shots.

60 is about right for a typical liquid cooled bike. Those guys that tell you 90-100 are full of crap. They are outright lies.

hemi engine? I highly doubt that

The issue is gearing and rpm. Read below for more info on gearing and speed.

Thumbs down Those Bastards

What do you guys think i should go back and say to them. I feel like i got ripped off. The book even suggests that with installed ratio itll go 90km\h and now im just pissed. I would rather get an ebay bike and soup it up for much less, i bought this one for $575 Canadian with taxes and all. Is that good for this bike cuz now im just mad.

$575 thats sound about right.. you can't expect everything out of these bikes...just like some people just want to ride and not tune or fix... like it'll never break down, YA RIGHT! theres always a bolt to be tightened and stuff to clean

575 is a good price for a liquid cooled bike providing you didn't pay a ton for shipping.

Hey guys, i called the guyz i baught the bike from told them that it doesn't go the advertised speed, or the speed in the book and they said bring it in and we'll look at it, so there better be some speed or i'll be pissed. By the way its a MT-A4. Once they do the tinkering what are some things i can add that dont cost a lot and work our way up to the expensive stuff. Also My friend has a long flat paved road on his farm, and want to drag, what would be a good gear ratio. It's 6 and 68 i was thinking a 7 at the front, would that lower acceleration drastically or will it be okay, should i make the clutch ingage at a higher rpm and also approxiamatly how many km/h or mp/h will it increase by.

Wink

Here try 7-70 or keep your 68 on the back ........
17.5 mm delorto , w/ proper jetting .................
three stage reeds
port engine properly ...........
correct squish ...........
as for drag ........pfff ......whatever ........ get it on a track , or come out with us ........
Are you gonna grad the same person over and over and over ...........
down the same road over and over and over ............
are you afraid in the turns........?
seriously come ride with us , learn how to turn , and come out to some events and see some of the racing that takes place ........amra had a wicked event put on with phatbikes that i am sure you would have LOVED! Sorry no drag ...........!

By the way all ....... bikes can hit those speeds for sure , easily .....maybe not yours , but set-up right you can ...........
I can honestly say i can do it on my banshee , and WAAIT BY the way there admin , your good friend says he hit somewhere in the 40 -45 mph . i think he said even 49 mph , which does equal over 60 km
the Z1 is geared to do 110 km
and the BMS i was racing in the amra mini road racing ass. was defineately doing over 60km! no lie ........
you wanna do top speeds work with your gearing. But also get your engine ready as well try what i have listed off ...........
can't find these parts ? I got them here !
