| Decent Rider | Riding/Racing tips Newbies and experienced riders alike will often fall prey to the "panic steer". This is where you come too hot into a corner and you don't think you can stay on the track, so you stand the bike straight up and naturally run off the track. One of the most important things to remember when trying to keep your intended line through each corner is to look where you want to go, not where you don't want to go! If you look at the grass on the side of the track or the rider that just slid out in front of you, that is what your mind communicates to your body and that is typically where you steer. Also, don't look immediately ahead of the bike, look well ahead of the bike. Depending on your speed, you are talking 3-10 bike lengths or more ahead of you. For example, if you are approaching a corner, look just past the apex. Look at some pictures of professionals and you'll see where their eyes/head are pointing. When racing, you need to develop multiple lines through each series of corners. Typically you will find an "ideal" line that gets you through the corners fastest, but you also need a 2nd and maybe a 3rd line and practice those. The reason being is typically the fastest line is also the same line most of the other racers will use, and you have to select an alternate line to get around them. You can't pass someone if you are using the same line! Stretch before practicing/racing! Develop a stretching routine has numerous benefits, including better flexibility on the bike and reduced chance of injury in a crash. When stretching, don't do the "bounch stretch" (quick stretches that alternate between minimal stretching and stretching to the limit of pain), as this can cause injury in itself. Rather slowly and steadily apply pressure, hold it, and then ease off of it and either repeat or go to the next stretch. It takes awhile before you'll notice you can stretch farther, but it is worth the effort. It is also wise to warm up your muscles before stretching, as stretching cold muscles can lead to injury also. KTO Racing

| sweet, speaking of corner turns, what would be the best strategy when turning, release the throttle and squeeze both breaks till you finish the turn or just keep reving while you turn? |

| yea, you really wanna roll through the center smoothly other than hammering on the brake and flooring it, that just screws up your line.

| Pocketbike Dealer | There are many techniques to riding . Finding a style that works for you is the key . I have been trying some new ones lately . From out of the starting line , to turns and braking . Got some real interesting braking ideas from a friend , which i am going to try next time out . i have been working on my style of riding lots lately . And am noticing a difference in speed and confidence in the turns . Will remind you all that none of the riding i have been working on would be possible without any of my gear . Full leathers , helmet ,gloves and shoes . Otherwise would not do this . I find also riding with experienced riders helps your riding . Watching them in corners , and out of the hole . AND not to mention actually getting out there and doing it , riding !
