what about some thrash music? some drum and base? my buddy has an awsome band and there nothing to do with copyrighting there... my buddy would do it for sure... he'd do anything for Pb's

That is still going to be copywritten music. It's not just the words that have copyright, it's the compilation.

As long as he provides a license so in the future if there is ever a question of ownership someone can prove that it is legal.

Sorry admin, i understand what your saying , but have you seen the pocketbikeplanet dvd video , i can almost 100 % say that they did not ask for any permissions nor probably never got bothered by anyone either , just use cuts of all sorts of tunes ! BUT your forum bro , you call it ! but would say to use good bands , disturbed , kid rock , that type of stuff , or rap , hip hop , but music everyone knows and evryone bobs there heads too, or even something that when you here it you wanna ride so hard and fast your skin peels off.......LOL , you know what i am sayin ! Not some ones school band !

i found a wicked song to use but i would have to cut the intro short the band is chimaira and the song is called: down again its very good. and for admin are you sure we need permission if we are not selling?

Sure they may never have a problem. But it only takes one person to complain and then they are charged with copyright infringement. Do you know what the penalties for that are in the states?

I wouldn't use a skool band. The music I had up on the MP3 player here on the forum was free licensed music and it rocked.

Sorry I'm sounding like a preacher here guys, but I deal with copyright issues daily in my work life. It sucks but we have to live with it.

Yes you need permission even if you are not selling. Seriously if you guys have any questions on copyright law go ahead and ask. I'll be happy to answer your questions. I'm not a lawyer however, but have dealt with this for years.

i agree totally with admin its better than paying for copywrite? leagaly will take longer but it will be totally worth it
